Center for Global Action.

To know God, know yourself, lead yourself, lead others, & ESTABLISH KINGDOM.

CGA is a 5-month discipleship/leadership training in Gainesville, Georgia.

At the beginning of December, I was accepted into the Center for Global Action, a program with Adventures in Missions. And with that, I am excited to announce that I will be moving to Gainesville for a short season at the end of January!!

WHY

When I was on the Race I found so much growth and refinement during the time I was there. I experienced so much healing and revealing of my heart.

This Fall I have been living at home taking online college classes; dreaming and praying about what the Lord might be calling me to next. It has not been an easy season and for many of us,, it has been a season of grieving, as I have looked at what this new way of life looks like. Lots of disappointments, lots of fear and uncertainty, and so much QUARANTINE. It’s been incredibly hard to find perspective and not spiral into a victimized mindset of entitlement. The days have felt mundane and pointless at times feeling like all you can do is JUST be okay. The Lord has taught me a lot about what it means to just be patient and wait. It has been so difficult to think about making plans and putting myself out there because of the “WHAT IF’s?” What if it crumbles? What if I’m not prepared? What if Covid shuts everything down? The Lord does not call us into fear, but into a life of obedience and abundance. He calls us to walk in faith and paddle away from the shore in order to receive the gifts He is giving us. I think that it is so easy for us to think about the goodness of God and the gifts that he gives, but forget that those gifts are not something that the Lord just throws at us and expects us to catch. I don’t know about you, but I’m not the best catch. I worry about not being fast enough or having perfect reflexes in order to read the speed and direction it’s flying at me. The Lord continues to teach me that I can’t fail, That if I’m following Him that I can’t just miss the things that He is calling me to. Thank the Lord that we don’t have to worry about missing the catch.  He prepares us in order that we may become co-workers for His Kingdom. All this being said it doesn’t mean that we just get to sit around in stagnation and wait for the Lord to give us these great things. WE HAVE TO BE PROACTIVE. He calls us deeper. He calls us to follow. He calls us to surrender and discipline. Just because it is simple doesn’t mean it’s easy. Throughout this season I got the opportunity to do the Global U Blitz Course and we looked at this prayer by Sir Francis Drake. This prayer has been something that I pray for often. I pray that the Lord would call us all deeper into bold faith and direct action.

Prayer By Sir Francis Drake

Disturb us, Lord, when

We are too well pleased with ourselves,

When our dreams have come true

Because we have dreamed too little,

When we arrived safely

Because we sailed too close to the shore.

Disturb us, Lord, when

With the abundance of the things we possess

We have lost our thirst

For the waters of life;

Having fallen in love with life,

We have ceased to dream of eternity

And in our efforts to build a new earth,

We have allowed our vision

Of the new Heaven to dim.

Disturb us, Lord, to dare more boldly,

To venture on wider seas

Where storms will show your mastery;

Where losing sight of land,

We shall find the stars.

We ask You to push back the

The horizons of our hopes;

And to push into the future

In strength, courage, hope, and love.

AMEN.

Following the Lord with your dreams is not easy, but it’s so WORTH it. In 1Corinthians 3, Paul writes a letter to the church and its leaders. Paul reminds us that we are Co-workers, we have been given the authority to plant seeds and tend to the growth, but the growth that comes is only by God. “I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow…For we are co-workers in God’s service; you are God’s field, God’s building” (1 Corinthians 3:6 & 9). I am excited to continue on this journey of refinement and growth. MORE healing enables the Lord to use me to plant MORE seeds and tend to MORE growth.

WHAT

This is a discipleship program that will challenge my beliefs, and provide tools and space for deeper healing and spiritual foundation. This will be a season of greater dependence on the Father, a season of digging deeper into the foundation of my identity in Christ, and a time of giving a season of my life to discipleship. This is a continuation of a partnership with my Father. I believe that these 4 months of my life that will prepare me for what’s next.

I will have 20 hours of classroom time every week that is taking us deeper into what it looks like to know God, know yourself, lead yourself, lead others, & ESTABLISH KINGDOM.
