ITS MAY. that means there is officially one month left in my CGA semester. I am just entering into the last full month coming to you from the cabin in the Georgia woods. This season has seemed to fly by and most of you may not be aware of where I am or what the heck I’m doing so let me take a moment to rewind and catch you all up.
On the 20th of January I made the 23 hour road trip from Buena Vista, CO to Gainesville, GA. It was a great time with my mom. LOTS of quality time 🙂 I moved into a house placed on about 70 acres of land a little ways outside Gainesville. There are 14 of us girls living together. It is definitely a full house.
I started out the semester working at Chipotle. World class burrito roller, that’s all I have to say. It was definitely a difficult job due to the lack of management and that is part of the reason that I decided to leave.I am currently just doing odd jobs for the last couple weeks that I have. It was an interesting experience to work in the fast food industry. I ended up loving the people I worked with and had so many great opportunities to pour into the management and coworkers. It definitely brought me a lot of perspective of what it looks like from the customer service side of the food industry.
My days here at CGA look pretty normal most days. Mondays I am in class from 8:45-5 and then Tuesday – Friday I am in class from 8:45-12. When we are not in class I’m either working, finding bodies of water to jump in, driving to the mountains or just bopping around the great town of Gainesville. That’s the quick quick overview of my life logistically. Would love to catch up with any of you all intentionally if you want to hear more!! Please reach out.
You all are probably wondering what CGA is & what I’m learning. These last few months the Lord has walked me through so much healing & huge amounts of freedom. The Lord continues to bring me out of shame & invite me to walk in the truth of His character. I continue to learn MORE. More about myself. More about the goodness of the Lord. & more about what it looks like to walk in freedom in authenticity. I have learned what it looks like to step into seasons of waiting, and what it looks like to take one day at a time pursuing focus. The Lord has continually given me this picture of what it looks like to partner with him in a way that provides strategy and moves away from chaos. I was given this great analogy of each step of faith looking like the movement of a chess piece. It is strategically thought through and a part of the bigger picture. It’s this idea that even when I can’t see the big picture I trust that the things the Lord calls me to walk in, fit. He knows what it looks like, and I can trust him in the movement. For me I’ve often thought that when the Lord leads me it feels like chaos. It feels extremely random and it just doesn’t make sense. To tell you the truth, in some circumstances, from an outside worldly perspective it really might look like chaos and some would say “flying by the seat of your pants”. I have learned that the Lord’s plan of healing and teaching just doesn’t usually look like what we would like it to. Personally, I become so caught up in the urgency and the lack of time, but I think the reality is that the Lord does not see it with the same urgency that we think He does.
In the rhythms of abiding we are able to freely move when he leads us. In this season that has looked like engaging with the things that the Lord has asked me to grieve from the past and fully rejoice in hope and ability to dream for the future. When we are able to fully engage in both we step into the ability to hold things with greater capacity.
This is just a little update about what is happening in my life. I am incredibly thankful to be here and blessed by the support that you all have given me in this season. This has been one of the most stretching seasons, but one of so much life, growth & consistency.
If you would like to support me throughout this last month of CGA there are a few ways that you can partner with me.
Prayer is a big one !! One of the things that I would love prayer in is next steps. After this season I am currently praying through a few different options. Prayers that the Lord would give me clarity and guidance for what that looks like.
Financial support!! I am currently $390 from being fully funded. If you feel led to give you can donate straight in my blog or reach out for other ways.
Thank you all again!!
